When I made the original painting of the Secret Language of Prayers I wrote down prayers for peace on the canvas then painted in the loops of the letters and the negative spaces.

The prayers are indecipherable in the finished painting, but have come alive with the addition of color and gestural markings. The energy of the words are there but the painting reads as a contemporary abstract.
